Early on in my journey to become licensed, I had several people ask me “why do you want to be an architect?” For me, the answer was simple – it’s what I’ve always wanted to do. I knew from the time I was about 11 years old that this was my career path, so I did everything I could to make sure I’d see that dream come to fruition.

The New Year is a good reminder to set and review your goals. A successful career in Architecture doesn’t happen by luck or by chance. It requires a clear vision of what you want, setting tangible goals, and then assigning tasks to work toward those goals. There are 168 hours in a week. Assuming you sleep 7 hours a night (and you should), that leaves around 119 hours.
